Mittenwald is a charming German town on the Austrian border. It is surrounded by impressive mountain faces, our first real taste of the Alps. I didn't get many photos of the town itself, unfortunately.
After we stopped for lunch in the center of town, we headed off to find the trailhead for the Leutaschklamm walk. With our time constraints and carrying Little A, we had decided we'd do the shortest version of the walk at the gorge. The longer ones look great and weave up and over the gorge, on impressive bridges, but the very bottom of the gorge has a small, paid walk that heads up along a boardwalk bolted to the side of a narrow gorge over fast-flowing water.
